Nik Lee

Nik Lee is a photography who uses artist techniques to manipulates his photo, I say this because of the way he present his photos. Most of his photos is either manually cut up or made in photoshop and have a section of his photo that is in a different colour or it's all in his photos that he had planned and staged.
This is the most famous photo from Lee; I like this photo because of the way it had been presented. His photo shows balance because of the way the photo had been taken. I also like how that photo looks like a whole photo that had been cut in half but both of the side is the same photo. i know this because of the clouds in the sky that looks the same. I like how the left photo is a little darker then the right photo. I think the red circle in the photo binds the two photo together, I say this because every time I look at the photo, for a split second i think it's one photo but cut in half, by using the red circle as a focus point it shows me that the photo is the same but next to each other.
This is my most favorite photo from Lee; I like this photo because there is a man wearing a white mask with red writing on it while wearing white clothes standing against a wall that is red on the top and white at the bottom. I think this photo is trying to recreate a minimalist art form, I think this because in the photo it shows a maximum of three different colours (one if you don't think black and white is a colour). I think the photo is strange but I like how it shows a that you can make people focus on one area in the photo without using the setting in the camera, I say this because of the way we only look at the head because the colour of the of the mask and the wal. A white make with a hint of black one the top against a red a wall is really hard to miss out in term of focusing, I think this because of the way the three colours that is in that area is a really strong mix of colours.

I like a lot of Lee's photo because of the way he thinks about the way he stages his photos and the way he plan and present it. I also like the way he uses everything and not just the things you woud only get just to pose for a photo, the way he plans his photos makes me think about different ways to bend the rule of photography.
Looking at Lee's photo had gave me a lot of ideas on how to make my final images, I was thinking that I can make photo a bit like the first photo but make it a spot the difference photo. I was also thinking about experimenting with the background colours and the colours that people is wearing and putting it together to make a area of focus or to recreate a style of art.
What I don't like about Lee's photo is most of them are the same, he dosen't expand on his ideas like try changing the hue or saturation of his photos or trying to take some in black a white in the same style and adding colour to it manually.
